Just over 10 years ago during
the infant stages of The Jackpine Jamboree, along the banks of the NewWood
River,
a seed was planted. It
sat quiet all through the cold winter months, anticipating
the end of the darkness. When the
spring of 98' rolled around, our little seed eventually
sprouted and began to grow...and by the time summer arrived
was ready to show it's first blossoms. The location was the
illustrious Mike's Landing. Approx. 18 bands were on
the ticket, but only the newly bloomed Daryljethro slopgrassicus
(known commonly as Slopgrass, Slop, or Sloppy
Joe) was there to blind the onlookers with
it's showy clusters of original songs.
It was truly something to see....the rest is history in the
making.....
come celebrate the sprouting of our slop seed.
This is also the park where we hold our annual Labor Day event, The Jackpine Jamboree!
Come see this beautiful place for itself and scope out yer camping spot for
Labor Day Weekend!

New Year's Eve Celebration- a night of revelry and ringing in the New Year
of 2012. We will be celebrating in the beautiful ballroom of the classic
Stevens Point venue,
Bernard's Country Inn.
Doors open at 8 p.m. The celebration begins at 8:30 with music by Irene's
Garden, followed by Sloppy Joe, and ending with the first notes of 2012
being played by Horseshoes and Hand Grenades! As an added bonus there will
be a Midnight PIZZA buffet featuring Bernard's famous Bavarian Special
Pizza, which is topped with his own sauerkraut, German smoked sausage, and
Swiss, parmesan, and mozzarella cheeses on a homemade sourdough rye
crust!! There will also be vegetarian pizzas on the buffet so there will
be a lil' something for everyone!
Admission is only $15.00 for 3 of Steven's Point's favorite hometown
bands. This will be an 18 and over show in the Ballroom (unless you are
with your parents of course!) Only 21 and over will be allowed in the bar
area. Please don't forget to bring your ID!!
Bernard will be offering some amazing New
Year's dinner specials so if you are looking for a fine meal before the
show, be sure to make your reservation!
The
Stay Inn on Division Street has generously offered a New Year's
special discount rate to our group for 49.95/room plus the use of their
meeting room for an after party...be sure to tell them you are with the
'New Year's at Bernard's' group to get the special rate. Stay tuned for
